Formula 1 2010 The Game

Design of Video Fighting Games
In an attempt to broaden both franchises respectively, an attempt to make an action game was made for each of them with Street Fight 2010 and of course the Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero, Special Forces, and
Shaolin Monks were created. So far Mortal Kombat has created more adventure games than Street Fighter, even though it may or may not have any significant involvement in the development of the characters. Street Fighter 2010 was for the NES while Mythologies was created for the N64, PSX, Special Forces for the PSX, and Shaolin Monks for the PS2 and the X-Box respectively. While not all of them were huge hits for fans of the franchises, it was an attempt to broaden it out and experiment with taking known characters giving them a story.
Back to how it had an impact, there were other games that had some qualities like it. While there was the Marvel vs. Capcom series, that was more based off the Street Fighter series given the styles, there have been games called Kasumi Ninja for the Atari Jaguar and Primal Rage for the Arcade but ported onto the Sega 32X, Genesis, Jaguar, and other systems. The games themselves may not have been a hit but it did show that nothing could touch the two franchises just yet.
There was a PC fighting games called FX Fighter, which bares resemblance to the two previous games but taken into an early 3D game made for DOS. It was actually successful and something that I could personally say was enjoyable. Obviously it was a noble attempt to take it to a 3D level but for the PC it was very good. It probably can’t run on newer systems without the use of a DOS Emulator I think but not 100% positive on that. This would probably be something that while it went for a fighting game, it was more or less a chance to branch out and separate itself. Too bad not too many times this series didn’t take off because it could have been something great for other consoles. Another PC game that came out that was Battle Beast that had another effect, more like Transformers in a way. With that, it also had that formula but had a plot involving a robotic monster called Toadman not to be confused with Toad Man from Mega Man 4.
One last series was the Smash Bros. series but this one actually separates itself from both of those major franchises. There also were more mini games like the bonus targets; each had an adventure but involved facing off with the Master Hand. Melee took it a step further and had an Adventure Mode making it not just a fighting game but also an adventure game as well. It was multi-player and really was innovative. It had familiar with Nintendo characters but Smash Bros. Brawl is supposed to have a 3rd party character Solid Snake from the Metal Gear series. It’s so far one of Nintendo’s greatest All Stars games bar none in the fighting games division.
There’s other games that involved with a fighting game style but some not as large but could be considered a mild success or a failure depending on point of view. Without Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat leading the
charge and helping make fighting games great, would there be others trying to do the same thing? That is interesting but a what if in that case. There will be others that will try to get involved and be successful and others that while trying but will also fail. Time will tell what will happen next in the future for these fighting games.
